40 years later, gays remember Stonewall riots

by Luis Torres de la Llosa – Sun Jun 28, 7:32 pm ET

NEW YORK (AFP) – Activists took to the streets here Sunday to mark the 40th anniversary of the Stonewall uprisings that became a defining moment of the gay rights movement.

Calling for legalizing same-sex marriage, a bill for which remains before the New York state senate, hundreds of thousands of people joined the colorful annual parade that marks the 1969 raid on the gay-friendly Stonewall Inn.

"Forty years after, we are still fighting for gay marriage, we are still fighting for the same rights as anyone else. One day, we are gonna get it," 25-year-old Lesha McKinzie told AFP.

"Everyone should have the right to be married. It doesn't matter if you are gay or not because marriage is a union of two people, it's love."

6+ Hour

I am working on an under-lit clay animation. The image on the screen is just to show a frame of what I was working on -- all the lights are off while working. The clay on the table is at the end of a sequence where I faded to "black".

For the amount of time I worked I ended today with 1 min. and 8 seconds of animation to an audio track I created.

It seems ok, after it came down from the tree and ate.

I Understand

@ChrisDeLeon Since the beginning of civilization, some small fraction of asylum inmates have been those people that really, truly, irreversibly "get it."

Dinner Party

I really cannot believe this year is half over all ready.

Tonight was my younger Brother's residential service provider's (for the developmentally disabled) dinner party. This is a chance for the agency to get together with their clients and their families. I am very pleased to hear all the concerns and praises from the clients and that they do speak up.
