Live with Compassion

"Help FPMT's Sera Je Food Fund offer meals to the monks at Sera Je Monastery by purchasing the Live with Compassion Wristband.

Lama Zopa Rinpoche started the Sera Je Food Fund to provide three meals a day to the 2600 monks of Sera Je Monastery. We need to raise US$270,000 each year to cover the costs of feeding these precious practitioners and teachers of tomorrow.

By purchasing 1 Live with Compassion Wristbands you will offer food to 3 monks
By purchasing 5 Live with Compassion Wristbands you will offer food to 17 monks
By purchasing 10 Live with Compassion Wristbands you will offer food to 35 monks
See how amazing a small donation can do!

'Live with compassion.
Work with compassion.
Die with compassion.
Enjoy with compassion.
When problems come, experience them with compassion'"

To NYS Congressional Candidate, Jane Corwin

Hello,

I was wondering:

What is your position on Same-sex Marriage for NYS and/or the whole USA?
What is your position on Transgender Rights, esp. in the workplace?

I am neither a Democrat or Republican so I base my vote on my ethics, morals and the equality of all US citizens. I am tired of being a second class citizen when I was born in this country, pay my bills on time and pay my taxes.

Thank you.

52nd Anniversary of the Tibetan National Uprising Day

"Today marks the 52nd anniversary of the Tibetan people’s peaceful uprising of 1959 against Communist China’s repression in the Tibetan capital Lhasa, and the third anniversary of the non-violent demonstrations that took place across Tibet in 2008. On this occasion, I would like to pay tribute to and pray for those brave men and women who sacrificed their lives for the just cause of Tibet. I express my solidarity with those who continue to suffer repression and pray for the well-being of all sentient beings."

Petition for the Release of Tenzin Delek Rinpoche

I am not guilty, please appeal for justice for me….call all people together and do everything possible to help me overturn the verdict”.

Tenzin Delek Rinpoche, revered religious leader and visionary advocate for Tibetans, is serving a life sentence for allegedly “conspiring to cause explosions”; a crime he did not commit. Since his arrest Tenzin Delek has maintained his innocence and no credible evidence has ever been found linking him to this crime.

Now, in a remarkable act of support and bravery, 40,000 Tibetans inside Tibet have signed petitions demanding justice for their leader.

Join with the people of Tibet now and add your ‘thumbprint’ to the petition below to help free Tenzin Delek Rinpoche.

The petition is to Zhou Yongkang (pictured right), Party Secretary in Sichuan Province when Tenzin Delek Rinpoche was detained and currently one of the highest ranking members of the Chinese Communist Party with authority for overseeing implementation of the law throughout the People’s Republic of China.

One Day

I have a dream that one day this nation will rise up and live out the true meaning of its creed:
"We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal."

We will not forget!

"On this, the eleventh annual Day of Remembrance, we are part of a global movement to honor those who have died. We mourn our fallen sisters and brothers who have become the victims of hatred and prejudice and we commit ourselves to doing what it takes to prevent others from joining their ranks. We pause to acknowledge the loss we all suffer because these people are no longer sharing their gifts, their laughter, their struggles, their work and their lives with our world. We decry the many forms of discrimination-racism, sexism, economic injustice, ageism, and so many more-that compound the transphobia and homophobia we face and make some among us even more vulnerable to violence.

We must continue to state loudly and clearly that transgender people will never willingly be relegated to the status of victim. Transgender people and our families, friends and allies are standing up effectively, working for public policies that emphasize both the need to prevent these horrific crimes as well as holding accountable those who commit them. We are speaking out daily, educating law enforcement, co-workers, family members, policy makers and our neighbors about the realities of our lives and helping transform their prejudice into understanding. We are advocating boldly for anti-discrimination laws that will allow transgender people to get and keep jobs, improving the quality of our lives and keeping us safe."

What is it hold up?

By MICHAEL GORMLEY, Associated Press Writer – Tue Nov 10, 8:28 pm ET

"ALBANY, N.Y. – After weeks of uncertainty and pleas for action by Gov. David Paterson, New York's Senate failed to vote on a bill legalizing same-sex marriage during a special session Tuesday.

Advocates and opponents say the Senate lacked the 32 votes needed to approve the measure, which Paterson strongly supports and the Assembly already passed."

Vote No

What is happening in Maine is a tragedy -- that there has to be a vote at all.

What happened to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness?
What happen to freedom and justice for all?

Maine, like California before them, only proves you have to live within the privileged class. One has to be heterosexual and fall somewhere within the Judeo-Christian system to be counted as a citizen.

I do not for one moment agree.

Equal rights for every citizen.
Marriage for every citizen.

What happened to the USA?

Healthcare

I admit, I have not kept up with the healthcare politics. All I know is I will take at least one class during the semester so I can have even crappy insurance, otherwise I will be uninsured again. It is too expensive to not have health care at all.

What I am worried about is my parents losing their healthcare because of the greedy unmentioned company currently providing such "care" if the government makes insurance a mandate for all citizens. Said company will drop the current policies if the government provides basic care, then they will be the ones to suffer while said company reaps even more profits.

Without regulations effective immediately on healthcare reforms, we will see the same thing that happened with credit card "reform" -- credit companies dropped people and credit limits without warning and raised interest rates to obnoxious percents in the months leading to the reforms activation dates.

Sick, all of it.

A Birthday Request

Today is my 32nd birthday.

All I want for my birthday is for you
to do something special
to help someone else.

It does not have to be another human being,
and the act does not have to be huge,
just make sure you help.

Thank you!

"What's Up, Doc?"

I think it is sad so many people are giving the President so much grief over the Healthcare Reforms and how the USA is going to pay for it.

I have an idea: cut out all the frivolous earmarks and spending and pool it together. Not only would this country be out of a Recession, but together WE can pay for healthcare.

Childish Games

I cannot understand how Albany politicians thought they could get away with giving exorbitant raises to a few people "in charge" when we the citizens of NY are paying for everything. This after the circus playground of who is in charge -- not working and still getting paid.

If the common business person tried something along these lines all hell would break out -- arrests, lawsuits, et al. I say fire them and hire someone else, all while changing the "rules" so this does not happen again. Okay, so I am dreaming, but at least I still have that.

40 years later, gays remember Stonewall riots

by Luis Torres de la Llosa – Sun Jun 28, 7:32 pm ET

NEW YORK (AFP) – Activists took to the streets here Sunday to mark the 40th anniversary of the Stonewall uprisings that became a defining moment of the gay rights movement.

Calling for legalizing same-sex marriage, a bill for which remains before the New York state senate, hundreds of thousands of people joined the colorful annual parade that marks the 1969 raid on the gay-friendly Stonewall Inn.

"Forty years after, we are still fighting for gay marriage, we are still fighting for the same rights as anyone else. One day, we are gonna get it," 25-year-old Lesha McKinzie told AFP.

"Everyone should have the right to be married. It doesn't matter if you are gay or not because marriage is a union of two people, it's love."

Time for Change

I saw a pick-up truck with a bumper sticker reading, "Buy China = Bye Jobs". Well that is all fine and great, but I immediately thought of another issue, one much more pressing.

How did China get business? Oh, I know. USA businesses sold themselves like cheap whores only to keep their profits while the USA takes a header into the economic toilet.

Do not blame China or any other country that is profiting of the USA blunders. Blame the USA and the former regime who let the USA fail.

Support the new Presidency and support changes.
