Friends and Children

I went to a local farm supply store to get some cracked corn for our outside friends and found a new Hummingbird feeder as well. The old ones had many issues and were not working well. I will have to wait a while longer to see how this one works out. Now armed with 50lbs. of cracked corn (only comes in 50 or 10lbs. and 50 is cheaper) we are well stocked.

Oh, and they had store kitties. The female is 16 and the male looks 6 or 7 years old. As cats should be, they are spoiled. One sleeps on the counter and the other has his own bed on a couple of bags of seed. There is a basket of handmade cat toys on the counter (how they do not play with them I will never know) and we bought 2 for our children. This is the same place where the other 2 toys for Valentine's Day came from; today's purchase was St. Patrick's Day themed.

Presents

First off I came home to 稲荷寿司 (inari-zushi)!!! Win.

Second my stepfather bought 2, catnip filled, Valentine's Day themed cat toys for our children (and one for my brother's cat, Jasper). I could barely give them to our children without loosing my hand. Let me just say the toys were (are) a hit -- I have the video to prove it.

Kisses for Rocky

Rocky makes me laugh.
He has to sit with me or next to me every night.
He was also very interested in watching himself on the web cam.

Little Miss

Squeaky is a funny little cat. She earned her name on her lack of a fully formed meow. Running around like mad and rolling on the floor to be petted are some of her favourite pastimes.

Sleep?

I cannot begin to explain the level of exhaustion I am currently experiencing.  Despite this, I cannot sleep.  I am even going to leave some homework until tomorrow morning just so I can go lay down.  I do not understand, I mean I should be tired -- heck I was tired trying to drive home 8 hours ago.  The cats can sleep just fine.

Us

Rocky and I watching leaves blowing across the yard while the birds fly back and forth to the feeder. Storm is approaching, more like snow clouds moving in.

Lunchtime

I went to Obento, a Japanese restaurant on campus, for some tasty yakisoba noodles. I brought them home only to have a furry guest visit during lunch.

Squeaky-in-the-box

I bought 2 round cat beds, a his and hers, and where do they sleep? Next to the plush beds, in a box from a recent delivery is the nap space of choice. This morning Squeaky found her brother reclining in the box and bopped him on the head a few times because she wanted to be in the box.

The Blue Ring

The Blue Ring (2008) is a silent film revealing the joys of a well loved birthday present. Quickly shot with a digital camera and edited with iMovie, this film has a run time of 2:11:09 minutes.

Play time

My kids, Rocky (top) and Squeaky (bottom), turned 6 on May 28. PetSmart send birthday cards with coupons for a free toy each. After a bag of food, and I am talking the 18 lb. bag, and the ring toy (featured), I got a whole bag of toys free. (I saved the bag for later.) These two cannot get enough of the ring toy, and they will even play together -- normally the only "togetherness" is Rocky trying to wrestle with his sister, who screams because she does not like to wrestle. I even have some video of them playing so "nicely" together. When the games were, they both took naps.
